If you're here, maybe you've been searching for someone who actually gets it — not just someone with a license on the wall, but someone who understands what it's like to feel like you're carrying more than anyone can see, and to want something different for yourself.
I'd like to think I might be that person. Here's a little of my story.
Just like you, I'm a soul explorer — someone who wants to keep learning, growing, and becoming more of who I really am. I try to live with humility, authenticity, and a genuine desire to be helpful to others. I don't have it all figured out. But I've learned that the exploring is part of the journey.
Counseling was my second career. I spent more than 20 years in the travel industry — a job I fell into, one that paid the bills but never quite fit. Underneath it all, something felt off. Helping people had always been there in the background of my life, but I didn't yet know how to make it the center of it.
Then my grandmother was placed in a nursing home, and something in me shifted. Looking back, I can see it as one of those well-placed conversations from the Universe. It still took me a while to listen — there was plenty of self-doubt about going back to school, affording it, whether I was even capable. But eventually another nudge came, and in my late 30s, I found myself enrolled in college anyway. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2009 and my Master's in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2012, and began my internship that same year. I've been doing this work ever since — and it turned out to be about far more than a career change. It became part of my own journey of understanding myself.
The Journey Beneath the Journey
So much of who we become is shaped by what we've lived through. We learn to protect ourselves, keep the peace, stay small, stay busy, stay responsible. Those ways of being often serve us well for a while — until they become the very things that keep us from knowing who we are underneath them. That's been true in my own life, and it deeply shapes how I work with others.
I don't believe healing means fixing something broken in you, or becoming a completely different person to have a different life. I believe there is something underneath it all that is truly you — your Heart. Your Soul. Fear, insecurity, old beliefs, expectations, and trauma can cover that part of you up, until you start looking outside yourself for answers because you've forgotten how to trust what's happening inside. But your Soul doesn't disappear. It just gets a lot piled on top of it.
Why I Created Inner Health and Healing
I wanted to create a space where we could look beneath the surface together — not just at what's happening in your life right now, but at what might be underneath it. The patterns that keep showing up. The beliefs you carry about yourself. The way your body responds. The relationships you find yourself in. The parts of yourself you've learned to ignore or push aside.
My approach has grown from my training and experience as a licensed professional counselor, alongside ways of working that honor the emotional, relational, energetic, and spiritual sides of being human. To me, these aren't separate — we are whole people, and our thoughts, emotions, bodies, relationships, beliefs, and spiritual lives all influence one another. Sometimes healing happens when we finally connect things we've always kept in separate boxes. And sometimes, healing is simply learning to hear yourself again.
A Little More About Me
Those 20 years in travel taught me a lot about people — how to really listen, how to adapt when plans fall apart, how differently people move through the world. For a long time I thought of that chapter as just the time before my "real" career. Now I see it as part of the path that brought me here, and that's something I think about often with clients too. We all take detours, wonder why certain choices took so long — but those detours are part of the story, not separate from it. I'm still learning that in my own life. I'm still exploring, still growing, still discovering things about myself I didn't know before.
I don't need to sit across from you pretending to have all the answers. I can meet you as another human being who has spent a lot of time exploring what it means to heal, to grow, and to find her way back to herself.
Maybe you've spent years being who you needed to be for everyone else. Maybe you've accomplished a lot and still don't feel connected to yourself. Maybe you know something needs to change, but you're not quite sure what. You don't have to know exactly where you're going before you begin. Sometimes the beginning is simply becoming curious about what's underneath it all.
Because underneath the fear and doubt and old stories, underneath the ways you've learned to survive and navigate this world, there is still you.
Your Heart.
Your Soul.
And that is the part of you I want to help you find your way back to.
